Sorry for not being around much, things have been pretty busy but its calming down now and Ii am starting to get back to my crafting, so hopefully I will be able to get back posting on my blog more often now :) .

I had an order for a baby card from my cousin and thought that Tabs sketch would be perfect for it :) , I really enjoyed this sketch and know that I will use it again :)

I have used my new and super cute cuddly horse image from Magnolia and as usual coloured him with my trusty Prismacolour Pencils :) , the papers are a download from NitWit collections and are from the in the meadow collection :)

Some news to share now, remember the BasicGrey Challenges Blog ??, I closed it down in June to re – decorate it, unfortunately it took longer than I planned as other things came up, but I can now say that we are very very nearly there :) , just the few finishing touches and we will bre ready to launch with our re-lauch blog candy :) , so i’ll leave you with a little sneak peak of what the new blog will look like :) , as you can see its completely different from what we used to have, and me and the team are all very excited about the re-launch, so stay tuned to the BasicGrey DT blogs as we will be announcing the blog launch very very soon :)

A new challenge has been posted on the Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge Blog , The challenge is to decorate a brown paper bag, here is my take on the challenge :)

******

JM Monthly challenge 2 front pic

I must admit when i had heard what the challenge would be i panicked, i had never attempted anything like this before, but you know what, i really enjoyed it, now it did take me absolutely ages but it was great fun , and i highly recommend trying it for yourself :)

I decided to try another first for me , Shabby Chic :) , i have always loved the Shabby Chic style but have never been brave enough to attempt it for myself, so as i was making this bag/card which was a first for me i thought this would be as good a time as any to try it, i think i still need a bit more practice with it but i am happy with it all the same and no doubt i will attempt it again soon :)

JM Monthly challenge 2 inside pic

Here is the inside of the Bag/Card, i decided to make the card a gift too by making a space to insert some money :) and on the other side i inserted a poem which i found online :)

Here is the inside of the card again but this time showing what was in the pocket, i made this tag with a space to write a message :)

And here is the back of the Card/Bag, i kept it simple and just added my personalized stamp which i bought of Ebay ages ago :)

Well thats all the pictures, i hope you liked my bag/card :) ,  i also hope that you can join us with the Monthly challenge, this challenge will run for 2 weeks and it is being sponsored with a massive $50 gift certificate from Simon Says Stamp :) , and do make sure to stop by the rest DT blogs too as their creations to this challenge are AMAZING, trust me they really are outstanding, head on over and see for yourself :)

JM Mina Sketch

First of all i must apologise for being such a bad blogger lately, i have been soooo busy and dont have much time to get some crafting done, i really hope it does slow down soon as i do miss my crafting, i have soo many new goodies that i am itching to play with but haven’t had the time to *sigh* :( , But hey at least i did get time to get my Just Magnolia card done this week :) :) , better than no crafting at all eh :)

I adore these papers i have used on this card, they have been created by Summer Driggs and downloaded for free off her blog, Summer creates the most beautiful digital scrapbooking goodies and as soon as i saw these papers i had to have them hehe, they really are much prettier in real life and my feeble attempt at photography doesn’t do them any justice.

I was a bit worried though as when i was nearly finished this card i noticed that (to me anyway) it started to look like a Halloween card with the peachy orange and black colour scheme, so to try and stop this i added a few pink bits into the mix although i am not sure you can actually tell they are there as they are very pale colours of pink, so i am not sure i stopped it looking like a Halloween card hehe

Right I’ll stop rambling now and let you go hehe, but please do stop by the DT blogs to see their wonderful creations this week, and i do hope that you can play along with us in this weeks challenge :)

oooo i love these papers, they are by Craftwork Cards and they have a gorgeous pearl finish to the paper, soooo yummy :) , i bought these ages ago and i am only using them now hehe , i was clearing out my paper drawer and stumbled across them, lucky eh :)

I got this adorable Tilda image last week and got colouring her straight away, she is soo cute ain’t she, i coloured her again with my trusty Prismacolour Pencils :) , i have to admit though i did attempt to colour her with my Pro Markers but eeek i made a complete mess, i have compleatly lost my touch and i soooo need to practice with them again

anyho i hope you can join us with this weeks challenge, there is a fabby prize on offer for the lucky winner, (ooo i so wish i could enter myself :) ) be sure to stop by the DT blogs to see their wonderful creations and why not say hi while you are at it, i am sure they would love to hear from you :)

Oh yes before i go, me gots a new light tent to play with for my photos, what do you think, does the photo look better ???, i also added a fab cloudy type border around the edges, i have seen these about and decided to try it for myself, i love it ,to me it draws the eyes to the card and not the background which is what i love most about it :) , so what do you think do you like my new photos ???? feel free to say no, i wont bite your head of hehe, i do appreciate your comments good and bad :)

Just Magnolia Tutorial Challenge 1

2009 June 30

Hey everyone, today was we launched the our first tutorial monthly challenge on the new Just Magnolia Tutorial Challenges blog :) , This challenge is all about distressing which is following the fabulous tutorial that Kim gave a few weeks ago here :)

******

Here is my take on Kims tutorial :)

******

JM Kims Tutorial Distressing

I loved Kim’s tutorial and i cant believe the amount of distressing i did on this card , i used my distress inks on everything, even the lace hehe, i didn’t follow the tutorial completely though as i didn’t use any glimmer mist, i only have the one colour at the moment and its unfortuantly the wrong colour :( , but … i will be getting more of them so stay tuned to see a glimmer misted card :) :)

I have to admit that this is my most used and favourite tilda :) , can you blame me, she is adorable and great to colour, but i love to paper piece on her apron rather than colour it as i can never decide which colour to colour it so i go for the easy and effective option of paper piecing with papers used on my card to make her match :)

I hope you can join in on this 2 week challenge following Kim’s brilliant tutorial, there is a fabulous prize of a $20 gift certificate which has been sponsored by 7 kids college fund for the lucky winner :) , Be sure to pop on over to the rest of the DT blogs to see their gorgeous creations following Kim’s tutorial :) :)

JM tutorial Header

Hi everyone, just a quick post to let you know the news :) ,

As it was getting rather confusing running 3 separate challenges on the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog, we have decided to create 2 new blogs one for each challenge :) , this will be soooo much easier in the long run and will hopefully save a lot of confusion for everyone

So, tomorrow we launch our second monthly challenge on the new blog which will be based around the challenges that our Featured Stampers do for us. Last month our Featured Stamper was our fellow DT member Kim, who did the most amazing distressing tutorial for us.

So be sure to pop over to the blog tomorrow and we hope that you can join in on the challenge :) :) :)

Here is my take on this weeks challenge :)

JM Bev Sketch

******

I loved working with Bev’s sketch this week, simple but very effective , just how I like them :) ,and Isn’t this Tilda image the cutest :) , I got her on Thursday and got making a card with her as soon as i could, I have again coloured her with my trusty prismacolour pencils,I cant put these fab pencils down, I even bought myself some more promarkers on Tuesday and I was planning on using them on this weeks challenge, but when I sat down to colour for some reason I couldn’t get it to work right for me, I think may be a little out of practice hehe, so I will be sitting down and having a good colouring in session me thinks :) .

Anyho hope you can join us in this weeks challenge, and be sure to stop by the rest of the DT members blogs to see their wonderful creations :)
